[NEWS] BIG BANG BAGS AWARDS AT 27TH GDA

By now, you probably knew that our woori Big Bang has bagged several awards at the 27th Golden Disks Award which was just concluded yesterday.

They won two awards -- Golden Disk Award Song Division through "Fantastic Baby" and MSN International Award. Meanwhile, G-Dragon also won Golden Disk Award Song Division through "Crayon" and CeCi Popularity Award. G-Dragon was totally in his zone yesterday performing four songs -- three of his songs which are Crayon, One of a Kind and Heartbreaker. He also performed a duet with his sunbae, Tablo from Epik High.

[Interview] GD Dragon at GDA 2013

I'm currently at media centre covering GDA 2013. I'm like 10 metres away from him and i can't seem to contain my excitement meeting him face to face. Anyway, he did a small speech after the red carpet during a group media interview.

GD: "I am happy to be here in Malaysia. It is not the first time being here because  Big Bang just had a concert here. I am always happy to go to Malaysia as we have a lot of supports and it always cheers me up. I am hoping to do well. Thank you and please enjoy the show."

GD will be singing One of a kind, Crayon, Heartbreaker and a duet wih Tablo. He will also be wooing the fan with an act on a motorycle, probably Harley Davidson. Ok VIPs, that's a spoiler! Enjoy the show :)

[NEWS] Malaysia As Reputable Host In The Region, Brings Latest Korean Act Next Week

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's reputation as the international host for major events in the region will be further elevated with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy 27th Golden Disk Awards (GDA) to be held at the Sepang International Circuit, bringing along the top Hallyu act in the music scene.

Founded in 1986 and referred as the Grammy Awards of Korea, it is South Korea's most prestigious K-POP music awards show and is presented annually for outstanding achievement in the music industry.

Mediartncomm Co Ltd Director Seo Nak-Won said Malaysia was chosen for its growing reputation as an international host. Malaysia beat two other countries in the region that lobbied to host the event.

"Malaysia has been pushing not only in tourism but also as the preferred destination for meetings, incentives, conventions, exhibitions and major events.

"The hosting of the event will be timely and will further enhance its profile as the host for major events. The Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) has been very supportive in assisting us in hosting this event," he told Bernama.

Seo said most of the Korean artists are also keen to come to Malaysia due to its diverse and unique cultures as well as strong support by Malaysian fans for the Korean music industry.

Besides that, Malaysia has the most K-POP fans in Southeast Asia, thus wooing the organiser to host the prestigious event as a "gift" to the loyal and supportive fans.

"We've so far invested about RM11.4 million in terms of venue as well as on advertisements and promotions. This will be the biggest South Korean music festival ever organised in Malaysia," he said.

So far, Malaysia is the second country after Japan to host GDA outside South Korea.

Seo said the difference between Japan and Malaysia was that the event this time will carry a party theme or music festival for two days and the audience will be standing as opposed to previous events where everyone was sitting.

Tickets available for sale are Samsung GALAXY zone (RM999) and Hallyu Zone (RM199). As for Rockpit (RM688), all tickets have been sold out.

As to date, 25 K-POP stars have confirmed their attendance for the event, which will be held on Jan 15 and 16.

Among the top artistes are G-Dragon, the leader of Big Bang, CNBlue, T-ARA, Super Junior, Beast and many more.

Hosted by Mediartncomm Co Ltd, the event is also supported by MyCEB and presented by Samsung Malaysia Electronics as title sponsor.

[VOTE] GD and Big Bang for the 27th Golden Disk Awards

As you know, the 27th Golden Disks Award (GDA), which is referred as the South Korean Grammy Award will be held in Sepang International Circuit on Jan 15 and Jan 16. This event will be the first time ever bringing about 25 Korean K-Pop artists, of which they will receive awards based on total sales of disc and digital music files.

As to date, 25 K-POP stars have confirmed their attendance (including G-Dragon) . So for VIPs, let's vote for GD and Big Bang! SMS voting has begun two days ago for two very special awards - The Samsung GALAXY award and Malaysia's Most Favourite.

At only RM1.00 per SMS, all fans need to do is type GDA[space]artist_code and send to 33213. They will then receive an SMS to confirm that their vote went through.

With results based on 50% SMS votes and 50% in-store votes, Malaysians can now play their part as fans to help their idols win one of the two special awards. 

The best part is, fans are not limited to voting just once! So let's start voting now!

As for other awards, Big Bang and GD are listed under Disk Album of the Year for "Alive" and "One of A Kind" respectively. Fantastic Baby and Crayon are also nominated for Song of the Year. 

On tickets,  only Samsung Galaxy Zone (RM999) and Hallyu Zone (RM199) are still available. Rockpit tickets have already been sold out.
